What do you know? Password is still the dog’s name! I guess I- she- we aren’t that different.
I don’t know what to think about this new ship. It feels familiar yet… different, somehow. Like everything is slightly off center. The crew is here, although Commander Hendrik has apparently been in stasis. I’m a little shocked the rest of them made it this far! Dayan seems to have settled into an impromptu leadership role, and Newie even still has his arm.
They’re on their way to rendezvous with some kind of Khassa military leadership. Apparently, the Sliarans are about to invade in this reality, and somehow the Inanna got involved with the war preparations to repel the Bugs.
It’s a busy system – and well fortified, I’ll give them that. The number of mining and transport ships buzzing around this system could support a huge amount of organometallic production. We did a sweep for Sliaran scouts but nothing out of the ordinary turned up.
There was some discussion on the way in about outfitting this Inanna with some combat upgrades, maybe even turning some control over to their Tim. I don’t know if that’s actually what caused our Tim to start exhibiting some degradation, but they decided against it on the off chance it might be related.
Funny, that old defense drone apparently used to have some kind of uploaded intelligence in it, and this one here still does. This one calls itself “Horocha” or something like that. Seems friendly enough, just funny to see it moving with an element of grace after watching the way ours used to bump into walls and corners. The one in our reality must have been damaged more seriously than we thought.
I wonder what else is different here?
Well at least one thing isn’t different! Patrick!
We got to the Khassa station and were on our way to meet the alien admiral when Patrick picked a fight with our escort. Decked the poor thing flat out with a stun blast! No harm done in the end though. I wouldn’t say it to his face, but it was sort of fun. Maybe I missed him after he, well… I’m glad he’s not dead, at least not here.
Anyway, we did eventually meet with the admiral, and they seem to be taking the invasion preparation seriously. They just might stand a chance after all. I’ve gathered that the Bazaar hasn’t fallen yet here. Could be an opportunity to turn the whole course of this war around and stop the Sliarans before they can build any momentum!
The aliens are going to assist with the refits, but damn, I wish they could spare a strikecraft. It won’t be the same as being out there, free and in the middle of it, but hopefully I can help from on board the Inanna.
We’re heading out a ways from the station to test these new systems. Picked up a few sensor ghosts, but it’s not yet clear if there are any hostiles out here.
There’s a part of me that hopes there is. I guess it doesn’t matter what version of reality you’re in… blasting Sliarans out of the sky is still a hell of a good time!
